A family outfit (Montana Outfitter #192) riding out of Deep Creek in Paradise Valley, with Tim as guide and storyteller. Walking-pace, nose-to-tail rides along the creek and up hillsides with the Absaroka front filling the horizon — the kind of hour that makes everyone go quiet. Real ranch horses, safety first. Bring cash and closed-toe shoes.
